A 14-year-old was remanded for four days on Friday by Haifa Magistrate's Court after admitting to the rape of a five-year-old girl a week ago and a six-year-old about two months ago.

He told police on Thursday night he had lured the girls to either a shelter or a park by telling them he wanted to show them some kittens.

Police are investigating whether the suspect had anything to do with other complaints of sexual assault in recent months in the Kiryat Motzkin area.

Meanwhile, a Petah Tikva man, 58, was charged Friday in Tel Aviv District Court with repeatedly raping the 10- year-old daughter of his girlfriend over a three-year period.

According to the charge sheet, the man committed the rapes on a daily basis - usually in the shower - while he lived at their apartment.

He would ask the girl to take a shower with him when her mother wasn't home, and also would force her to perform oral sex.

The accused warned that her mother might die if the girl told her.

In Kfar Sava, a rape was thwarted Thursday night by an ex-husband who happened to arrive while his 48-year- old former wife was being held at knife-point in the backyard by an intruder who had broken in and beaten her while trying to force her to have sex.

The intruder got away, and the woman required medical attention for fainting.
